Fleet Week Miami

A total of 23 seminarians had the unique opportunity to participate in Fleet Week Miami. Among the attendees were Rector/President, Fr. Alfredo I. Hernandez, and Midshipman Spencer Dominguez, a relative of Fr. Hernandez.

Over the course of two days, separate groups from our seminary were welcomed aboard the USS Bataan. Organized by Deacon Jacob Gwynn, seminarian for the Diocese of Venice in Florida, and co-sponsored seminarian for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, and led by the ship’s Command Chaplain, Fr. Benton Garrett, these groups toured the ship and attended Mass in the ship’s chapel, witnessing firsthand the intersection of faith and service within the military context.
